Welcome to our new site! Your new Board of Directors has been hard at work this past month making important changes that will better position our organization to facilitate personal and professional relations among interested alumni, current students, regional clubs, and university centers dedicated to the region. We invite you to share your thoughts with us during this exciting new phase in our SIG’s development.
Our old name represented the openness of the organization to members of the Harvard community who not only identify with Latin America, but also have an interest in the region. Our new name retains that spirit of inclusivity, but with more brevity. This will soon be followed up by a new logo that better reflects our identity as a SIG.
We have transitioned our site to a new publishing platform and are excited for the possibilities that this brings. In the near future, we will be developing special pages for our regional chapters and student organizations, so that we are able to showcase the amazing work our students and alumni are engaging in both in Cambridge and beyond. If you have any ideas for other resources you would like to see, please leave them in the comments below!
Finally, we are launching a blog and newsletter to keep the community abreast of the activities of the SIG and the community. We hope these mediums will serve to connect alumni and student members, chapters, and regional clubs.
Rethinking our engagement
Most importantly, we are revising our strategy to engage alumni across interests, schools, and countries. As part of this process, we have developed a survey to collect ideas and define priorities from the community. It will be open until Sunday, June 12 to any prospective and current members. All Harvard students, alumni, partners, faculty and staff are welcome and encouraged to participate.
As our SIG approaches its six-year anniversary connecting people, ideas, and opportunities in the region, we are excited to invite you to partake in crafting a vision for the future of our organization. We thank you for your continued support and can’t wait to read your ideas and feedback to all these new changes!
